HOW DO YOU HIRE US?

Companies hire Brown Nelson Public Relations by retainer or project.
With a retainer agreement BNPR will be ready for work whenever you call. You will pay a fixed amount each month that most closely matches the amount of work you expect to buy. The retainer is applied to the work each month. This approach is best when you want a long term relationship with a PR firm
With a project agreement BNPR starts fresh every time you call. You want a brochure; call us. You want a community relations project done; call us. We start, do the job, and go away. This approach is best if you want to turn a PR firm on and off like a spigot.

Companies hire Brown Nelson Crisis Management by retainer or project too.
With a retainer agreement BNCM will be prepared to respond to your emergency whenever you call. We will set aside other client work if necessary to run to your side. You pay a fixed amount each month based upon the amount of threat we perceive you present.....usually $250-$1,000. We apply the retainer to work you need. Normally we maintain a current file of threats and facilities so we are prepared to respond with as little preparation as possible.
If you don't have a BNCM contract in place when you have an incident (project), you will have to negotiate a contract first and wire an initial amount of money into our bank account, usually $5,000 - $20,000, that will apply to the work. Half of that amount, however, "buys" our attention and is an up-front charge. Nothing will happen until the contract and the funds are in hand. This option gets PR support but at a stiff price of time and money. Obviously, a relationship previously established is the best means to face an emergency.

Brown Nelson uses a Letter of Agreement with its clients. Attached to that letter, and part of it, are the ethical standards we employ and our current hourly rate data. That Code of Professional Standards for the Conduct of Public Relations can also be read at the Public Relations Society of America home page.
